Low qualitySep 27, 2011
By mrx In an item such as this, you don't want a knit that is to thickly woven. This knit is extremely thin and weakly woven. One snag and the whole thing virtually falls apart; it did in my first day. The quality of material is panimime to a Halloween costume at the store, cheap cheap cheap. Search elsewhere for an authentic Shemagh.

Got here quick. Had to hand wash it like 7 times to stop the run from color they used. And mine had a hole too. Had to sew it very carefuly. Not the best but hey the price was okay.

Love it! Great for cold climates and for hot climatesApr 04, 2011
By M. MacBradaigh I'm bald. My wife is not. I bought these to have something to cover our heads and blend in with our other tactical gear. It's great. I love the weight of the fabric, which can be folded over if you want more warmth, or not if you want to keep it cooler. I've used it on hikes where there is a lot of wind and/or a lot of sun and I love the performance.
There's a reason our boys and girls overseas in the armed forces have picked these up for hot climates - they work!
Update 6/11/2011:
HOT CLIMATES AND COLD CLIMATES BOTH I have used this to cover my head and neck in snow covered mountains in conjunction with a camo ball cap, and also a waterproof/breathable boonie hat. And I've used it in arid, hot climates as well.
It works well in either.
I have been amazed at how versatile and useful this one purchase has been. It's also great for your neck as well as your head. It works great as a wind-breaker, to keep warm, and to keep bugs off you.

By Ian This is an awesome shemagh. I wore it during an airsoft war the other day and it was good protection from bb's
Good Buy.Feb 16, 2012
By BCRung Any serious outdoorsman or anyone for that matter should own one of these. It makes a good scarf and will keeps you warm when its cold, allows moisture to escape, and protects from the sun. combined with a wide brimmed hat it is great for fly fishing and hunting. It also has non clothing purposes. You can use it to cover wounds, use it as a sling, clean cooking wear, initial water filtering or even to cut it apart to rapair clothing. My one complaint is that it is not authentic, therefore it is not as durable, and has a tendency to form holes. Otherwise, its a no brainer buy
