4Good value for moneySep 26, 2012
By Antyong
I was initially misled by the green-colored hour index on the dial, assuming they are coated with luminous paint. In fact, only the tritium tubes on 12,3,6,9 hours and the hour and minute hands will glow at night. The glow is constant and sufficiently bright. I am satisfied with the glow.

The plastic bezel and case gives the watch an appearance of a inexpensive everyday beater. Do not expect much. I have accidentally knocked the watch several times against walls and furniture. So far no scratches. Have not tested the water resistance.

I bought the watch because of its tritium tubes. They worked well and gave me clear sight of the time in the dark. At $63, a good value for money.

5I just love it!May 23, 2012

Great watch for the price, you can see it at a quick glance in the darkest night, you don't need to look for a button to press to illuminate it.
its not bulky, good size i think.
i had not tried to dive with it, but i don't dive, so, i don't really care if it is waterproof or not. works fine, it tells the day and hour and I can see the hour with a quick glance in the bar without having to get my cellphone from the pocket or trying to press buttons to illuminate the dial..

4Only worn it for a week,Dec 17, 2012

but it matches the Amazon product description, so there have been no unpleasant surprises. Although it's a little smaller in size than I anticipated, I like the boldness of the face design of this watch, the contrasting color of the hands & the fact that you can indeed read the time in total darkness with this instrument. The second hand is not illuminated, however, so if that is a critical feature then this is not the watch for you. The hour positions other than 12, 3, 6 & 9 are also not illuminated, but, with those reference points, there is no difficulty in telling the time in the dark. The rubber band is a trifle lighter weight than I expected, but it's comfortable to wear & I can only hope it will prove to be durable long-term as well. The only real negative point I have to report thus far is that the date window/readout is so small in size that it's almost unusable unless you have very sharp vision. In summary, for a $65 watch with free shipping, I think it represents good value for the price.

this watch turned out to be great value. I paid $80 at the time (no pun intended) and it serves me well. Nice job Smith & wesson

4Nice Inexpensive WatchDec 17, 2011
By Richard H. Hawkinson "Aging Viking"
If you buy this watch, keep the selling price in mind. It is a $70 watch. Compared to my $1,000 plus Tag Heuer, this watch looks and feels like a cheap toy. You are not going to get a $1,000 watch for $70. If you plan to wear this watch in an environment that would be "hard" on a watch, this might not be your best option.

The minute and hour hands along with the 12, 3, 6 and 9 positions are the only ones that have tritium tubes. I came across a photo on the web that led me to believe all the positions were lit by tritium. This is not the case and I cannot blame Smith & Wesson or Amazon as this was a private photo. Just something to keep in mind.

I probably would have given this watch a five-star rating if the sweep hand had a tritium tube. It is luminous but does not glow long in the dark after the light source is removed. It isn't a big deal for me but if you need to see the sweep hand in a dark environment, you may wish to find another option.

The vendor, Ace Photo Digtal, provided impressive service. I would have no reservations ordering from them again.
